Montedori Sangiovese (Italy)

Bubbly’s take…

This is a quintessentially bold and characterful red. With a fruity bouquet, we think this varietal has everything one could want from an Italian red – fragrant, robust and flavoursome.

Fermented from the Sangiovese grape, the Montedori should also have a generous share of antioxidants. You can learn more about this remarkable grape, including some of the healthiest red wines just here.

Would go well with…

Being potent and vibrant, the Montedori should make a satisfying pairing with a heartier main course. Heavier dishes laden with complex flavours – imagine a sumptuous serving of bolognese or lasagna – are likely to be complemented by this wine, given its robust profile. As an alternative to a traditional digestif, we feel this could also make for a worth after-dinner tipple, perhaps with a cheese board.
